TV stands do so much more than just support the weight of your television! Most
television stands have shelves to hold several audio/video components. Some of the A/V gear that people like to place on the shelving below
their TV includes a cable or digital satellite tuner, TiVo, DVD player [including Blu-ray and HD DVD players], home theater receiver [be sure to allow adequate space to
provide ventilation for the amplifier to release the heat that's normally given off from everyday usage], video game system, and
maybe even a VCR. A TV stand WILL PROBABLY NOT provide
enough space for all of these components! If you anticipate needing

programs, you should place it directly above or below the TV screen.

to properly install your audio/video system. If you want to conceal wiring as much as possible, consider
buying a television stand that incorporates wire management in the back so you can better hide your audio, video, and speaker cables.
